Mountain bikes are lots of fun. Not a particularly surprising statement from a bike shop, so to expand on this a bit more…
Rewind five years, Wiggo and Cav were lighting up the Tour, Box Hill hosted the Olympics, and Surrey and the rest of the UK went road bike crazy. In equal number people that hadn’t pedalled a bike since they had a paper round, or had previously restricted their riding to flat bars and knobbly tyres, were pulling on the lycra and hitting the tarmac.
Over the last year or so though we’ve noticed it coming full cycle (obvious pun not intended, sort of). Whether your love of pedalling was born recently on the road, or you’ve left the mountain bike at the back of the shed in favour of the lightweight skinny tyred bike, more and more cyclists are discovering, or rediscovering, the joy of dirt.
If it’s your first time though, or been a while since the last time, it can be a bit intimidating. Do you want a hardtail or full-suspension, how much travel do you need, what size tyres – 27.5”, 29”, plus-size?
Not to worry though, we’re here to help. We began life as a mountain bike shop eleven years ago, and with over fifty years of riding bikes off-road between us, we think we know our XC from our trail, our all-mountain from our enduro.
