Since it's launch in 2012, the Trek Domane has established itself as our favourite and most popular range of road bikes. And with good reason - with both disc brake and traditional caliper brake options, it's forgiving ride position, stable geometry, and unique IsoSpeed pivoting seat tube give it unrivalled comfort and confidence in handling, making it perfect for our Surrey lanes all year round.
And now in 2016, Trek have raised the bar in road bike comfort and control again, with the introduction of four new levels of Domane...
Introducing the new Trek Domane ALR, S, SL and SLR
Building on the success of the original Domane, and already ridden to victory in the Strada Bianche by Trek Factory Racing's Fabian Cancellara, the clever designers at Trek have added some new features to take the Domane concept even further, with the launch of the new ALR aluminium frame version and three levels of carbon frames in the S, SL and SLR :-
Front IsoSpeed - the new SL and SLR bikes have taken the pivoting IsoSpeed seat tube concept and added it to the the front of the bike - a fork steerer that pivots in the headtube, to give the front of the bike the same comfort and control benefits as the rear.
Adjustable Rear IsoSpeed - the rear pivot on the SLR bikes have had a makeover too, with a slider built into a split seat tube, to adjust the amount of compliance. Keep it stiff for short blasts, soften it up for longer rides, make your Domane ride how you want it to.
Wider Tyres - the ALR, SL and SLR bikes all have wider tyre clearance, and come fitted with 28mm tyres on the caliper brake versions, and super-plush 32mm tyres on the disc brake bikes, the perfect compliment to make the most of the bump-soaking front and rear IsoSpeeds.
Lower Gears - 11-32 cassettes fitted as standard, no more pedal-stomping up our steep Surrey climbs!
IsoCore handlebar - developed by Bontrager specifically for the SLR bikes, a continuous elastomer layer on the inside of the handlebar, to reduce road vibrations still further, the icing on the cake!
There are a full sixteen bikes across the new range, with disc and non-disc brake options, from the £1100 ALR 4 to the £7600 SLR 9, as well as framesets and a custom-build through Trek's Project One
programme, so whatever your needs and budget, there's a Domane to suit you.
We were lucky enough to be treated to a sneak peek of the new range at Trek UK's HQ in Milton Keynes, so here are a few spy shots for you. More importantly though, we've got a Domane SLR 7 Disc 56cm test bike in the shop, ready to roll, so come and find out for yourself what makes this the most comfortable, confidence-inspiring road bike you can ride.
We've also got a wide representation of the full Domane range in stock across the different sizes (shown below), and our staff know the bikes very well, so we can advise you on the right model and size for you. As well as our new Domane SLR 7 Disc test bike, we've also got a bike fit service to get you set up perfectly, and a workshop to keep your new bike running smoothly. So if you're considering a Trek Domane as your next bike, we're the shop to come to.
Give us a visit to check out the full Domane range, or call ahead to book a test ride on our SLR 7 Disc test bike.
