If you’re locking the bike in a reasonably secure environment, and need to carry the lock with you on a longer ride, for example at a café or pub lunch stop, go for a lightweight cable lock, either the Kryptonite Keeper or Kryptoflex.
For locking a bike at a less secure location, such as a train centre or train station, a heavier D-Lock will provide much more security. The Kryptonite Keeper D-lock is a good starting point, but the two Kryptolok options will allow you to secure the front wheel too, either with a cable or by removing the wheel and using the long lock. The Kryptoloks also come with an insurance policy of £800 if the lock is broken.
