4/2/11: Latest BEN Delivery - Thank You

Thanks to everyone that brought in old parts and bikes, we loaded up the lorry and took our latest delivery up to Re-Cycle in Colchester last week. It was our third delivery, and biggest so far.

Thanks also to the nice people at local company Unum, who kindly added some of our bikes to a delivery they were doing - we wouldn't have fitted it all in the lorry otherwise!

We'll be taking another van load of bikes and parts for BEN Namibia up to Re-Cycle once we've collected another lorry load, so if you've got items you'd like to donate, please come and drop them off with us.

For those of you that don’t already know about the BEN project, the idea is that, for example, a tyre or chain that has reached the end of it’s useful working life in the mud of Surrey, will still be very useful to people in dry and dusty Namibia, using their bikes more gently, often as their only way to get to work and school.

Give us a call or drop us an email if you’ve got stuff to send but want to check it’s worth sending first (the answer will almost certainly be yes!), and if you want to find out more about the charities involved check out the BEN Namibia and Re-Cycle websites.
