what felt like an endless summer finally coming to a close, it seems like
a good time to update you on everything we’ve been up to in the shop…
of our 2015 bikes are here now, with lots of exciting new models from Trek
size is still the big talking point in mountain bikes. Trek’s take on
this is to offer 29er wheels for the bigger frame sizes, 27.5 for the
smaller sizes for hardtails, and offer both sizes in full-suspension.
brings the addition of the more playful Fuel EX 27.5 alongside the
mile-munching Fuel EX 29. We’ve got demo bikes of both, along
with the Remedy 27.5, so you can decide what works best for you.
with Genesis, the heart of their mtb range continues to be their
UK-friendly steel hardtails, the 29er High Latitude and 27.5 Latitude
covering the wheel sizes.
the road, disc brakes are the hot new thing. We’re convinced, but find
out for yourself as our Trek Domane Disc demo bike is here and
ready to go. Continuing the disc theme, we’ve also got the new Equilibrium
Disc from Genesis arriving later this month, alongside their Croix
de Fer cross bike.
to that Trek’s new lightweight Emonda platform, and we’ve got
plenty of drop bar options for the tarmac and beyond.

our sale of last remaining 2014 bikes. There are some great bargains to be

upstairs, whilst it felt a little perverse to be putting out waterproofs
and thermals a few weeks ago when it was still 20 degrees outside, our Endura
Autumn/Winter range is on display, ready to keep you riding through
the winter. Remember, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad
also now stocking Kask helmets, with their new Vertigo II
helmet arriving soon, as worn by Team Sky, and tested by Chris Froome in
this year’s Tour more often than he would have liked.
a personal note, there were new arrivals for both Roger and Dan at the
beginning of the year, in the shape of Henry and Freya, so apologies if
we’ve looked a little more bleary-eyed than usual sometimes this year!
that, the shop has a couple of new arrivals planned too, with two new
bespoke frame brands.
been back in touch with Nicolai, our old friends in Germany that
we’ll now be working with directly, and we’ve also visited Belgium, to
meet Jaegher, a frame builder with a long heritage (that
includes Eddy Merckx on their customer list), but with a very modern
approach to custom steel. More on that in the New Year though.
finally, after a more than a year in the works, Waitrose reopens today. As
the biggest in the South East apparently too, just imagine how many
varieties of humous that’ll mean.
with a brand new multi-storey car park offering free parking for two
hours, you’ll be able to peruse the chickpea dips too, with plenty of
time left to head down to your favourite bike shop.
